You can also play with AI teammates, and observe how they fight (see how infantry combat works, how the AI makes pushes, quantity vs quality, etc.) to get a basic idea of what units can counter others best. You can also look up some other nice decks on the interwebz. For starters, you can ignore planes, helicopters, and other units that give you trouble until you are sure you've got the hang of this game. I would recommend making your own decks for the AI- give them a good mix of units, and remember that you can always modify it if it is too difficult to fight against. Standard MP games will usually give you about 1000-1500 points at the start, so adjust points accordingly (1500 pts if 1v1, 2-3000 pts if 2v2, etc). Nobody plays Economy, so don't bother with that. Destruction is better on AI if you're just starting out I believe the AI becomes noticeably more spammy on Conquest. Put AI on low difficulty higher difficulty just means more spam, which is unrealistic and not very fun. Death Row 1v1 is a map most people loathe, but the fact that it has only one main lane makes it great for learning basics. I would most certainly recommend beginning small.
